Continuing Education Credit
Equity Compensation Strategies
Our book, Equity Compensation Strategies, and the related exams are specifically designed to meet requirements for continuing education credit. At this time, however, we are able to make continuing education credit available only as described below.
Certified Financial Planner
Credit for this designation is now available. Supply your CFP number or last four digits of your social security number when you submit the answer sheet. If you earn a score of 70% or better we will report the results to the CFP Board. We deliver these reports to the CFP Board electronically, usually within a few days after receiving your exam answer sheet. The CFP Board accepts our exams for the following amounts of credit:
- Module 1: five hours
- Module 2: six hours
- Module 3: seven hours
The three modules are of roughly equal length, but each is more difficult than the preceding one, accounting for the difference in time commitment.
Certified Public Accountant
We hope to obtain acceptance of our program in the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, a program offered by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Educational programs accepted by the Registry qualify for continuing education credit for boards of accountancy in most states (although not all). Among the requirements for this process is a pilot program in which a number of CPAs agree to record the amount of time needed to complete each module. If you are a CPA and have an interest in participating, please contact us. Participants are not charged an exam fee and receive a refund of the purchase price of the book upon completing all three modules.
At this time we're unable to provide assurance that we will obtain sufficient results from the pilot program to meet the Registry requirements and provide CPAs, including the program participants, with continuing education credit.
Other
We sometimes receive inquiries about availability of continuing education credit for other purposes, such as maintaining an insurance license. We have not determined whether continuing education credit is available from any source other than the CFP Board and have no present plan to pursue such approvals.
